Dear KOLU Supporter,
Recently our Chief Engineer, Martin Gibbs, and I took a trip to Toronto, Canada. We went to visit a company named Galcom International. This is a non-profit ministry that sets up Christian radio stations and produces a *fixed tuned radio. The company is made up of about 20 employees and volunteers. They have their own little production line and over the years have shipped out over 706,000 of these radios around the world. Radios and stations are only installed for mission and church groups that agree with their doctrinal statement. Missionaries like this are the people who are getting out the Gospel in hard to reach places.
We were intrigued as Bro. Alan McGuirl, the head of Galcom, asked us to pray over 30 boxes that contained 100 radios each. That was 3,000 radios and each radio would have 10 listeners. That is a total of 30,000 listeners! What an awesome ministry they have.
At KOLU it makes us appreciate the great station that we have. Many people around the world don’t have a Christian radio station to which they can listen. They only have what the world gives them. We believe that we can be like Daniel of the Old Testament and have an excellent spirit as well as be found to be 10 times better than the world. That is why we are working hard to bring you good programming that is great for the entire family.

*TECH NOTES: A fixed tuned radio is a radio that only receives one frequency from a radio station. It is a great tool on the mission field because when it is given away the person can only listen to the missionary’s radio station. They work 24/7 tirelessly.
